After a somewhat restless night’s sleep I wasn’t sure I’d be up for today’s ride. We waited until 1PM to go out so we’d have as much recovery as possible. We rode Bogus up to the Pioneer Condominiums and it went better than I thought it would.
Even though I feel fatigued from yesterday’s ride, my legs were still able to put out the power. Heather and I rode together to the Forest Service sign and then I picked it up and pushed it to the 6,000 ft. sign. Time wasn’t that great but it was a great long interval. Then I waited a few short minutes for Heather and we went to Pioneer. I did a mini-interval up the Pioneer section and was surprised at how good my legs felt (relatively speaking).
We had fun descending back down but didn’t like leaving the cool alpine air at the higher elevations. It was a slug into a headwind back home on Hill Road but we still kept the pressure on until we hit Floating Feather. Overall it was a great workout and we both didn’t feel as wasted as yesterday. So we think we’re good to go and we just registered and made arrangements for the Tour de Park City. 170 miles or bust!
