Today I got on the rollers for my standard LT workout for this time of year: 2×20’s. I had just bumped up my FTP to 280 watts in CyclingPeaks and my training diary so this was the first workout targeting new zones.
With an easy day yesterday, my legs felt good from the start and I can even see progress in my “JRA” (just riding along) pace during my warm-ups and cool-down. Once I started the first interval I was able to keep it easily in the 270’s. The second one I picked it up even more and averaged 280 watts. Then I cooled down for 10 minutes. The intervals felt good and it only got somewhat difficult during the last five minutes of the second interval. So I think my new FTP is properly set.
