Today was another rest day for me. I decided that in order for my taper for the Boise Twilight to be effective, I needed to actually rest between races and not try to race everyday. So I went with Heather to Shorewood for her criterium. It looked like a good course with the exception of the stretch after the first turn. It was on a road that was fairly narrow and had major bumps on it. Heather said she got airborne a couple times! I borrowed our host’s video camera and filmed most of the race. At first thought it would be a distraction…and it was, but eventually I got into it. Heather rode OK, and went ovf the front for a few laps by herself but the pack wouldn’t have it and she was caught. But the consolation was that she won $100 in primes! There were other break attempts but it eventually it came down to a field sprint. Unfortunately it was another day neither Heather nor her teammates made it into the top-twenty.
