I did another half-Bogus Tuesday Nighter tonight and it went fairly well. I was really dragging yesterday, tired from my weekend workouts, but today I felt better so I got on the bike and headed towards Bogus to see what would come of it. I thought maybe my legs would still be toast but by the time I got to Hill Rd my legs felt good and I started an LT interval. I compensated for the few stops I had to make at intersections by semi-sprinting away and keeping the power on for a bit. I stopped the interval at 22 minutes, when I was part way up Corrals. Then I continued upward at an easy pace until I knew I had to turn around and make the group ride.
I got back down just in time for the ride to start and I started out for the first couple minutes at around 280 watts. Then I increased my wattage a notch and kept it there until the last few minutes. Again I was surprised at how many people I was able to catch. I managed to catch and pass Thomas G. in the last 500 so I really pushed it to the end, so he wouldn’t come around me. As per usual, I quickly turned downhill, stopped at the Chevron for some ice water, then rode home at a tempo pace. My time to the Forest Service sign was 35:08 at an average/norm power of 301/308 watts. A little weaker than last week’s, but pretty close.
