It’s been a while (since December!) since I’ve done a MAP test so I did one today. I thought it would be a good time to do one before I start into focused VO2Max/Level 5 work. With it I confirmed what I expected, that even though my threshold is decent, I still have a lot of headroom to work on my L5 range. I knew I was in trouble when 350 watts was feeling hard. I plugged along and suffered to get my final minute score of 411 watts. Five watts more than the MAP Test #1 I did in December. But back then I estimated my threshold to be 280, when now it’s more like 305. We’ll see how it changes after a month of VO2 work.
I then followed it up with an LT interval. I wanted to do a 20-minute interval but my legs were shot after the test so I could only manage 15 minutes. Between the warm-up push the MAP test and thet interval, it was a nice little 1-hour workout!
