With more daylight after work due to Daylight Saving Time, it’s easier to get outside for my weekday workouts. So today I headed west for some LT work. I tried to mimic a short TT since the George’s Cycles Spring Series (.PDF) starts this Sunday with the Jason Broome TT. I started with a 80-90% sprint then sat down and settled in, with below targeted wattage for the first 5 minutes. Then I slowly ramped it up through the interval until I was in VO2 for the last couple minutes. My legs were burning, but since I was able to put out decent wattage, I pushed through the localized pain. Both intervals went well and then I rode tempo most the way home. It was a great mid-week workout.
