This week I paid for my Double Day last Saturday. Each time I got on the bike since then my legs weren’t liking it and my perceived exertion for a given wattage, was really high. So I aborted my planned LT workouts and did mostly short spins instead.
Today after that mini-recovery period, I was finally able to finish a standard 2×20 workout. Wattage and perceived exertion were synched up and I was able to complete them without too much difficulty. So mixing VO2’s and a secondary Tempo workout on the same day was a bit much, but I’d say it was still in the realm of over-reaching than over-training.
