I had a feeling it would be too soon and I was right. The VO2s I attempted today weren’t much better than the ones I tried on Friday. Oh well, I probably need to rest a few more days. But the good news is I broke my year-to-date 1-minute best! I mainly wanted to do the 1-minute test out of curiosity, but it was also a good warm-up effort for the VO2s. So when I downloaded my ride I was surprised that it was the best of the year! Not bad, considering I was on the trainer. For these short duration efforts, testing on the trainer almost always results in lower scores. So the fact that I broke my YTD best on the trainer, means that my anaerobic work capacity (AWC) is coming along. Since I haven’t done any anaerobic/L6 work yet, my guess is the gains from my weekly neuromuscular workouts are bleeding over.
Now if I can only figure out what’s up with my VO2!?
