Eagle, ID — A week from today, I’ll be back in warm Phoenix, Arizona for the Valley of the Sun stage race. It is the first big race of the season and it looks like it will be very well attended. I’ll be racing in the Masters 35+ category because the Cat 2 field was full by the time I registered…over a month before the event! I’m not too bummed that I won’t be riding with the Cat 2’s since everyone does the same time trial course. I’ll still be able to compare my time with everyone and see where I’m at, which is the main goal of the weekend. I’ll be riding my Serotta for most of the races, but I’ve got to pack my TT bike tomorrow so I can ship it off via FedEx. This time I’m shipping to a bike shop where there will be someone to sign for it. No worries this time about having to pick it up at the FedEx distribution center! Heather’s friend Sheila recommended her favorite shop, DNA Cycles. This shop is close to where we’re staying and the staff members all sound like hardcore riders!
